We were working on tidying things about the homestead and came inside for a reprieve from the heat.
~I do believe this has been the longest duration of heat we've had since I can remember!~
A message had just been left and it was Miss Patty asking if we or anyone we knew could extract a swarm of honey bees that were making the Farmer's Market vendors a bit nervous.

We lost our honey bees to an early storm (and finished by curious pigs that found them before we did) back in February and have two top bar hives vacant. Dad had used our trap hive in an adventure earlier...his quick pictorial account will show you the trap. These are his cell phone pics and not the best quality, but you get the idea...
Because we had everything we'd need, we called Miss Patty back and said we were on our way. She was relieved and we, thrilled at the opportunity, thanked the Lord for putting us on her mind.
Once we backed into the nearest parking lot for the market, we grabbed our gear and immediately saw the swarm. Miss Patty said it was big and we were a bit nervous, wondering if they'd all fit in our swarm box. We knew immediately they would~phew!
Tech grabbed the saw, while Jr. Farmer was suiting up in veil and gloves, Lil Miss already had her gloves on and manned the video camera...

As you can see, we wrapped it up rather quickly. We were on a mission to wrangle those bees quickly and ease the tension for vendors! We actually had to stop and pause so Miss Patty to capture a photo.
I hope everyone comes away with an appreciation for how bees function - and less fear. Understand, THEY ARE NOT STINGING! They are simply full of honey and ready to find a new home. Their old home may be too small, too hot or diseased, they aren't interested in stinging, the scouts are out looking for that perfect new home and the queen is in the middle of this tight swarm - heavily protected! It's a beautiful miracle to behold and we literally could have dumped the bees on ourselves without harm.

And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey. Deuteronomy 26:9
