Wow, can you believe it has been a full year since a HUGE tree took out our house?...
No longer will we hear a great wind and not consider the powerful crash that can follow it. There are things in life that will affect you the remainder of you're time on earth, this experience is one of those...
Planning a year in the future seems like such a LONG time, but considering a year in review makes you wonder if you could have done more!

Planning a year in the future seems like such a LONG time, but considering a year in review makes you wonder if you could have done more!
After a long year of challenges, work, and learning experiences we have come to a point of greater understanding and certainly we have much to reflect upon.
Our months were awash with various projects that included finding a replacement home (within Insurance $ parameters), finding a way to bring it to our property, getting rid of the destroyed house, prepping the site for a new home and meeting a significant number of new FEMA standards to get to that point! Along with all that, Tech graduated, we re-homed all our livestock and we found ourselves changing the entire face of our homestead while realizing our previous goals could no longer be met at this location. It's quite an experience to work through so many changes while praying to accept them gracefully and grow from them exponentially. Frustrations can make it very hard to express a Christ-like love to those we interact with, but we continually pray for the Lord's work in us and through us.

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! Proverbs 15:23
Our year has offered us the most hands-on learning opportunities we've ever experienced which, we acknowledge, better enabled us to work through our many challenges! It drew us closer to each other and showed us how much more dependent we are on the sovereign provision of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Being displaced for over 6 months radically changes your 'regular schedule' but as we've learned, it can enable increased creativity, personal growth, and more!
It's hard to thoroughly address all that has come about but suffice it to say, we have learned we need less to live happily. The obligation to downsize created opportunity to hone our focus and realize certain skills that the Lord has given. Both Lil Miss and Jr. Farmer have shared a bit by adding to their blogs as they have begun walking through doors the Lord has opened. Feel free to take a look! As winter has brought more indoor time, we are making use of it with knitting, fiber arts, wood working and getting back to our website!
...for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:11-13
