Our Prairie Girl Pal, Heather has officially worked her herbal ways in the dye studio and shared some of her early results. The beauty of experimentation with God's creation is evident with the photos she shared. Click on her photo of her naturally dyed wool to see for yourself!
This, has been an inspiration at Trickle Creek Studios as well...Currently we are offering several of our new Trickle Creek Naturals Creative Fiber Batts at the Schafer Meadows Fiber Arts Festival. These are naturally beautiful batts that have only been dyed with herbs or plants or are their true colors. They are perfect for anyone who would like to avoid chemicals in their fiber. With the launch we are also giving away *Serene Spinning* music albums! Just as all of the beautiful color variations from nature harmonize perfectly, these offers are designed to do the same.

Years ago we had some great results from dyeing experiments with red cabbage (makes a cool blue/purple), rose petals, cherries and onion peels. Now we have begun our experimentation with tree lichen, nettles and turmeric, beets, onion & garlic peels and even ground cherry husks.
We are in the process of taking our conclusive photos and will show you the results upon completion of the Shafer Meadows Event, which we are enjoying tremendously! There are loads of free classes and Real Broom Squire! We learned to make pot holders yesterday and they have free fiber cuts, and prepped sewing machines to use while they walk you through the entire process...Today they'll be offering felted soap classes, free back strap looms to make-and-take, several ladies are always available to help you learn to spin and hone your skills ~ AND more! This is truly an all-encompassing event. They are having a HUGE raffle too, with nearly every vendor having donated fantastic products. We've got Tech on video duty and the children and I will be taking photos but if you have even the slightest inkling to go on an adventure, this is the place to visit! 'Dad' told us there is a great looking restaurant called 'The Rusty Tractor' in Elma that he'd like to check out...but they also have a concession stand at the event along with all the great vendors!
We Hope to SEE YOU THERE!
